Accounting has been a passion of mine most of my life and throughout high school, I was treasurer of many school clubs and groups. I attended both The University of Ottawa and Queen’s University, receiving my B.A.H. in Economics. My husband and I married in university and upon graduating, settled down in Kingston and pursued our joint passion – working in the arts and professional theatre. We both spent several years working as freelance artists, craftspeople and theatre professionals.
In 2005, as a general manager of a local arts organization, I met with Leanne Moran in preparation for the organization’s annual audit. This meeting rekindled my passion for accounting and the environment at Collins Blay struck a chord with me. I knew this firm was where I wanted to be. I returned to school, and graduated from the St. Lawrence College Business Administration Accounting Program receiving the Academic Council Medal and the CGA Award for Excellence. In 2009, I began work with the firm as a technician and began my journey toward my CPA, CGA certification.
Accounting remains a passion and I still get a thrill from working with clients from a wide range of local businesses and not-for-profit organizations. The firm’s direct and personal touch, along with the team environment that exists at Collins Blay are features that drew me to the firm originally and keep me passionate about my work today.
